Cinnamon Toast Crisps

Makes two to three servings
  • 4 slices Nature's Pride 100% Whole Wheat bread
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Butter-flavored nonstick spray coating

Arrange oven rack about 4 to 6 inches from heating element, and preheat broiler. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy clean up. Combine brown sugar and cinnamon; set aside.

Roll each slice of bread flat. Cut each slice of bread in half, diagonally, then cut again in half diagonally to make four triangle-shaped pieces from each slice of bread. Place bread in a single layer on prepared baking sheet. Spray top of bread with butter-flavored nonstick spray coating. Broil 1 to 2 minutes or until top of bread is lightly toasted. Turn bread over and spray again with butter-flavored nonstick spray coating. Broil 1 to 2 minutes or until lightly toasted.

Sprinkle brown sugar mixture evenly over the top of each toast triangle. Spray again with butter-flavored nonstick spray coating. Broil 1 to 1 1/2 minutes or until sugar begins to melt. (Watch closely as sugar over browns quickly.)

Allow to cool 1 to 2 minutes. Serve warm.
